I have a 97 C230 with 110k miles; in the assembly that contains the driver and passenger interior lights and sunroof switch, there is a persistant buzzing (about 90% of the time) - sounds like a small fan, but not sure what it is. Any ideas? I've tried fishing around the tiny vent (next to the passenger interior light) where the noise appears to come from, but that compartment appears empty.

Any idea how to disable it? Or remove the assembly around it? Something is broken and its very loud.

just pry the lens out from the front, then remove the housing by pushing the catch.

 

what catch? i took the lenses off and I cant figure out what to do next..
