Headlamp allignment
I just acquired a really nice 1998 C280 and one of my 1st projects is to allign the headlights. The manual says to align and mark a line on a test screen using the outer "reference point" (low beam) found on each headlamp lens. Where is this reference point?? Does anyone know???? Thanks a bunch to anyone who can help!!!

RE: Headlamp allignment
As a matter of fact, your manual describes the procedure rather thoroughly. So read up. You said you have the manual, right?
There is a different between adjusting regular halogen and Xenon. Oddly enough, owner's manual covers that too.
Most newer headlights project a beam pattern that has a small vertical line on the right hand side of the pattern. That plays a crucial row.
Keep reading the book because if I were to explain it will be longer than the book. Read the book and save some time.
But....if you still need help, just ask. We always check the forum. Lugnut usually is very good with technical matters like this. He may respond.
