I'm new to the forum. :-)).

I have a Mercedes that looks exactly like this car :

I want to put a cool looking grill with the Mercedes Logo in the middle of the grill ( looks like this car:


or this grill:


I was wondering if anyone have done this before. Would you recommend which grill from which model is best fit for my C Class Mercedes?

I have a STAR grille on my 99 C280. These grilles are readily available from www.bekkers.com, www. performanceproducts.com and eBay. I have three grilles for my car. The avantgarde grill, the star grille and a custom mesh grille I made myself from an extra frame I had. My only problem is modifying the secondary hoold pull to fit thru the mesh. The pull handle on my car is a separate peice attached to the secondary lock. I have made a new pull from a 1/4 dia., solid alum bar. One of these weekend I am going to see it this works.

By the way the kind of grille you want need little or no mods, except perhaps taking out the old one from the frame and inserting the new one, which should be very carefully done, as they grilles are plastic and break easily.See third paragraph for another possible modification. Price wise anywhere from$150 to $300 according where you shop and if the outside frame is included. I also change the standing star to a flat plate as shown in your picks. They run around $35.00 at any of the above.

Also, Bekkers now offer carbon fiber look grilles in either Star or bars. One thing to remember if the grille your looking at is not for your ride, you will have to modify them for size, a dremel tool is best and use it carefully as you always take off more but you can't put back what is already off.

Yes, it will look great, I think I have a pic of my C280 with the grille, If I still have it on the computer I will post it. Also, the grille will even look better if you replace the the standing Star emblem with the flat emblem.
