Hi, I am new to the forums and am in need of asssistance replacing a fuel injector on my 1997 c280 inline 6. Does anyone have any tips or advice so I can do this myself? Thank you for your help.

 

your engine is 104.941

the bolt of the fuel rail to cylinder head is 25Nm

It's a strange thing to replace an inector on one of those motors unless you have had water in your fuel. What is your reason?

 

Well, I thought it was an injector because when I put my fingers on the one while the engine was running there was no pulse. Now that I have replaced the injector the new one seems to pulse, but it is still running poorly. I have now determined it is a coil and will be trying to locate one of those today. Thanks for your help, and if anyone needs a 1997 c280 fuel injector let me know.

 

just out of interest, how much did the injector cost, and what size is it? eg 24lb/? etc

 

It cost $106, as far as what size it is I have no clue. I'll check the box later and see if it is on it. It is a bosch.

Are you sure its a coil and not just the connector under it. Check your spark plugs for track marks down the porcelin too.
