Default Fitted Carlsson 1/16 to my C220, Car wouldn't pull off!

I presume this is due to my bolts being to long. I have contacted a number of places in my local area and they've all fobbed me off. I've been told to either gring my bolts down or buy a spacing kit from Halfords for £60. I was wondering if anybody here had come across the same difficulties and solved there problem. Either buying their bolts from a particular place or have actually used a spacing kit.

replies would be much appreciated. Many Thanks.

Default Wheels and Bolts

Hi,

Don't know too much about the offsets, rim widths and bolt lengths on your ol d versus new rims but the bolts can make a huge difference.

If too long, they can damage the handbrake mechanism in the rear hubs - happened to the previous owner of my C280.

If too short, a wheel can come off as happened with me on my S500 (fortunately at crawling speed so no damage).

May also be worth posting your question stating your rim width and offset along with the existing bolt length versus the old on both this and benzworld.org

Good luck!
Shane
