I have a Mercedes Benz C280 and when i start the car it idles fine. When I drive it down the street and stop and a stop sign it idles really rough. It acts almost as if it is surging.

When i start to accelerate it feels almost like a knock, then hesitates, when i finally does accelerate when i stop again at a stop sign same symptoms of surging idle.

Is it possible carbon build it?

After reading a few posts I decided to clean my maf. I used rubbing alcohol and a qtip and gently scrubbed it. I then drove the car and it had the same problems.

I am open for all suggestions, please help.

 

You may want to check and clear the mass air flow sensor. If it not helping the problem try to change a new mass air flow sensor, aroung $300 for after market.
