Default BAS Light

Hi. I had a similar situation on my 2000 C230K, which occured about six years after I purchased it new. Didn't notice anything wrong with the braking system, other than the light coming on intermittently. Turned out to be a problem with the battery, which eventually went dead. Upon replacing with a new battery (and then turning the steering wheel all the way left and then all the way right or vice versa as instructed in the car's owner's manual), the BAS light stayed off for good so far! Hope this helps.

Default Brake Light Switch

Search through the remainder of the forums. This is also anissue with the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) Switch failing intermittently. I had the same problem on my 2000 c230k and a replacement did the trick. Check the forum post here.
