Elec probs
OK I found the front SAM and got a price of $290.00 plus approx $200.00 labor to program it from a dealer. Final ? The closest dealer is swamped with work ( New Orleans ) The next one is in Baton Rouge. Is a dealer the only one who can program this module? The cost is reasonable for sure at the dealer but driving it that far is something else with all the stuff not functioning. Thanks for all your help Sleepwalker!!
we only copy the coding from old one and transfer it.
for testing purpose, it can be exchanged without the need for coding. that's why i always got a spare SAM's for all models for testing...it saves time.

Did you resolve your problem with rear head restraints not going down..I'm having the same problem with my 2003 W211 E200K along with a host of others heres the list:
The tail lights are allover the place ....no stop light on LHS, dim on the RHS, no reverse lights, one dim license plate light, when I put the indicators on, one of the license plate lights start flashing and one of the interior trunk lights too....as well as the right hand stop light.
Indicators sort of work but not fully...only one of the 2 indicator lamps light up. Have checked the LHS lamp unit its all OK when I check the bulbs individually.
The reverse lamps do not come on...
When the lights are switched on...one of the RHS stop light comes on very dim..the voltage is 4.3V...the LHS is completely dead.
If I disconnect the LHS taillight completely...the interior LHS trunk light goes dim.
If I open the trunk the LHS license plate light..which is already dim goes off...and comes back on again once the the trunk is closed.
The brake lights work as they should.
The trunk switch does not work with switch or remote....tried looking for a bad earth in the trunk...no go...
They seem to be pointing to the Rear Sam ...any help would be appreciated.
