Question EIS and ECU swap

I have a 2000 C230K. The last diagnostic said that I need to replace the EIS. Since fus #27 blew up, I can't lock or unlock doors, open trunk, set the alarm using the key remote, rear dome light doesn't go on every time the back door is open but I can start the car and I drive it everyday.. A computer diagnostic said that there is a short in the EIS and I need a new one. Total cost $1700.00. I found a used EIS, ECU and steering lock module from the same car (same year, same model). I checked with the 2 VIN's and the ECU's are compatible. I switch the 3 parts. Now I can lock and unlock doors, open trunk and set the alarm with the key remote but the EIS doesn't want to unlock the steering lock and go to position 2 to start the engine. If I re install the original parts, I can start the car but get back to the same problem with the remote.
- Is it possible to have those new parts installed and have the engine start? I've been told that the new ECU needs to be synchronised with the rest of the car electronic. I brought my car to a MB mechanic which has a MB computer system (not the dealer) but he couldn't do it. I've the feeling he didn't have a clue on how to anyway.
They are lot of those 3 part combinations for sale on Ebay and other web places. I think the swap is possible but I would appreciate if someone did it, knows how to or knows someone who did it. I can't afford $1700.00 for a new EIS and FOB.
Thank you for your help. Pierre.
