Hey fellas,
I have a 2000 c230 and the driver's side mirror has started to become discolored and "fogged".
I feel it's the heating element and it keeps getting worse.
Any ideas and were could I find replacement mirrors?
Thanks,
Alex.

My 2000 C230's driver side mirror is loose. I removed the housing and foudn that the plastic tab that anchor the unit to the housing was broken. Now the remote control from inside the car can only move the mirror a little and at freeway speed the mirror shake like crazy. Dealer quoted the unit $500. I hope they can sell you just the mirror, if that is what the problem is. I would remove the cover and inspect the connections (2).
Does anyone know where we can buy the mirror unit for less than $500 ?
Thanks
V.

The drivers side mirror to the 2000 C230 is loose. After talking with a former mechanic, he stated that an epoxy could actually be used to hold the mirror in place. Similar to another persons comment, the plastic that holds the mirror itself has broken. Any advice to fix the mirror instead of paying $500 - $600 to get it fixed at a dealership.
Thanks
Rich
