Does anyone know where and what kind of clips hold on the drivers door panel on a 05 c230...and is there anything I should know/do as far as the air bag is concerned???

 

if your worried about the air bag, disconect neg cable of the battery. removed plastic lock cover. use a torx, 15? to remove plastic piece near door lock. removed srs plastic piece and there will be a torx behind there. two torx are behind door handle. you might have a hard time getting the handle off without damaging it. best bet is to pry it from the bottom. plastic clips hold the door panel on. use something to pry on the door panel and pop the clips out.

 

I removed my door panels on my C230K this past summer using the following link as a guide.

I used flat plastic putty knifes/paint scrapers to wedge behind out the door panel and pull the panel away from the door without damaging anything.

 

mercedes benz sells an assembly wedge if you want to fork out the money.

 

Thanks for all the help and thanks to andyd987 for the diagram...I bought a replacement trim piece for the drivers door because the previous owner apparently wore jewelry that left little dents & dings in the trim. I was hoping that it just snaped in from the front but that would have been way to simple!
