Do all tires wear so quickly on the C230?

It depends on the tire on the car. My Michelin Pilot Sports wore out quickly. If you go to www.tirerack.com, you can type in the year and model of your car and search for a tire that is compatible with your car from the different manufacturers, i.e., Pirelli, Michelin, BFG, etc. I use this site for research and look at feedback from people who have bought a particular tire and what they have to say about it. You will see that each tire has a treadwear rating, i.e, 220, etc. etc. The higher the number, the longer the tire SHOULD last, but it also depends on how you drive, etc. You can use their pricing for a ballpark price only, since mounting, etc. is not included and shipping is extra, so their prices tend to be a bit better than the local tire shops. Hope this helps.
PS>>>Some of the reviews of tires on the C230K have the owners reporting that this car eats right rear tires more quickly than the others.

I had the Continentals on my MB C230K 2000 and they suck... I replaced them with BF Goodrich Comp T/A with a 215 50 16's instead of the 205 55 16 which are about the best ones at that size. Rare size...
Since then, BF Goodrich has replaced the Comp T/A's with Traction T/A's for their 60K tires. You can also get BF Goodrich g-force T/A for a 40,000 mile tire if you want better performance, but the Traction T/A's are more all season tires. I currently have the Traction T/A and they are pretty good tires.
BF Goodrich's can be had most anywhere. You can either go with the original size, or just go up one size for your rims, usually.
Tire rack does have good information on tires and the reviews are pretty accurate. www.tirerack.com
also, what kind of wear are you seeing? Is it even or uneven tire wear? If it is uneven, then you have another problem on your hands.
The rears might get slight inner tire wear if you don't rotate them enough as the rear camber is set at -1 degree. You can't adjust the camber unless you have a K-Mac kit on them. You can get that at www.shox.com, call them for actual prices.
Also, if you want your car to corner flatter, spend the money and get Eibach front/rear sway bars. They will change your life. Plenty of on-line places to get them at a discount. :-)
