i wouldn't worry about it if you are worried about performance. the factory exhaust isn't going to give you a power gain if you replace it unless you really go all out with it. I would recommend a turbo if you are looking for performance, or you can check out borla exhaust if you really want sound only gain.

im sorry, i should have specified. the exhaust i have now looks like crap. its like...2 rusty pipes coming out of the back of my car. i just want a better LOOKING one. better sound or performance is just a plus. is it one-size-fit-all? or one-size-fit-all-mercedes?

Get yourself some chrome pipe tips like I did and save a couple of grand. Or the muffler tips are stainless and shouldn't get really rusty. Is this the stock system. Get some good metal polish and if you have strong arms and back, polish them clean and the use a engine wax, (high heat) to protect them. A lot of folks when the wash their rides forget to wash the exhaust pipes, I also do, No rust just dull, so after a year of seaching I found pipes that fit well, not prefect but wll.

SIZE : 23. 5" L x 8. 5" W x 5. 5" H

OUTLET TIP : 3" , INLET TIP : 2. 5" ( IN DIAMETER )

OUTLET TIP LENGTH : 6. 5" , INLET TIP LENGTH : 2. 5"

will those measurements fit a 1997 C280?
