Default Consumer Report and Mercedes

I own a 2004 Mercedes C320 and never had any problems, yet every review of consumer report on Mercedes Benz are below average. What has Mercedes done to defend their image?

Goas.

PS: Just look at th 2008 reviews and nearly every Mercedes is below average.

they are overengineered and they have way more technology than all other cars out there so they gererally have more problems with them. they also try to be first with new technology and want to be ahead of BMW so that i think hurts them a bit too.

If so, why doesn't Mercedes defend itself? Mercedes did acknowledge a couple of years ago that their quality went down andinvested quite alot in customer satisfaction and improving their product. The introduction of the M-series was a disaster - quality wise. Mercedes have relied on its name and have lack in their quality and german engineering. I only have 32000 miles on my vehicle and it is to soon to tell how reliable my C320 really is. It really bothers me to know that my Mercedes are below average, while my 1995 toyota truck has always received a nearly perfect score.
