Which Class is best for high Miles

Default Which Class is best for high Miles
I have a 1983 & 1991 D, and love them both. I have 300,000 miles on both of them and still running... I am thinking andlooking around to buy a 1998 -2000 model, but NOT sure which model to buy?
Should I buy a Diesel or Gas type?
Any tips or success would be helpful..
