I've always loved the styling of the00 to 07 C Class and am considering buying a weekend / take the wife to dinner car. Just so you know what I like, there is a 99 Miata Sport track car, a 94 MR2 Turbo, 04 F150 Lariat, 96 Ranger and the wife drives a new Mazda 6. I'm looking at this:

There were some significant changes among the C Class Sports, from the interior revision in 2005 to the V6 engines across the line in 2006. What do you, the experts on this board, suggest?

Do the earlier engines weigh less and handle best?
Which is most reliable?
The transmissions look complicated - are they reliable?

I'm an A&P IA, DER, which means I only think I know what I'm doing under the hood of a modern car. Which C Class cars are more DIY friendly?

the 01-07 C Class is also know as the W203. A great looking car. The one you have linked looks realy great. Is it located near you? Can you see it before you buy it?
