Unhappy CD Player

My car warranty does not expire for another 6 months and the cartridge for my CD changer on my C240 was stuck. This has happened many times before. I took the car to the dealer and they told me there are CD's that are thicker and should not be played on this equipment. The dealer has refused to exchange the equipment since it is now operating properly. Does anyone have any experience with this problem?

Default Same Problem

I also have a C240 with current stuck CD cartridge. Does anyone know how to get it out?

Thanks,

Most have a USB input, you can get a $12 8GB USB stick and load it with 157 CDs worth of music!

Even if you rip the CDs at lossless quality (1:1 in data size), that 8GB USB stick will hold 11 CDs of music!
The problem with that is that Mercedes uses fiber optics for the speakers and replacements use wire. So the whole system would have to be replaced and the car re-wired and all new speakers.

Well my car didn't come with a CD changer. I called an audio shop today to see what it would cost to put one in. I was advised to not buy a CD changer as they said Mercedes CD changers tear up every couple of years or so. They told me to go with i tronics? Anyway, whatever you use to listen to your IPod in the car is what they told me to use. It costs way less than the changer. The changer is about 290.00 on E bay and then add labor. The ipod "thingy" is around 250.00 that includes parts and labor. I hope this helps. They told me a new CD changer retail is about 700.00.
