Default CD CHANGER

SO I have a Fiber Optic CD Changer for my 2000 C280. When I plug it in it onmy c280 itreads " NO CD CHANGER" but today when I plugged it into my 2002 E320 it worked fine. Could it be a CODE or a BAD WIRE? How would I know?

I figured it out about a week ago. Take it to a dealer or someone that knows electronics and have the check the fiber optic wires. In my case all it was is that a wire in my radio was not plugged in so maybe it might be the same for u? Good luck

Default RE: CD CHANGER

I'm trying to find what type of cable I have before I order a CD changer for my 1998 C280 Sport (so I'm assuming 10 pin?) but am wondering where specifically to look in the trunk and what is the trick to remove those black plastic pins that hold the panels in place?
One dealer I called said they can no longer order the changers for this model. The service reps at local Best Buy or Circuit City can't ordre or sell anything other than the FM transmitter versions which require a control device to sit on the console (don't want to go that route).
Any clues appreciated to avoid ripping the place apart.
Cheers,
D
