Obviously, working on your own car depends solely on your mechanical ability. I only know my own. Some of our posters can rebuild
and entire engine, some cannot find the air filter. For something as important as our brakes, I am going to say this: if you don't feel you are capable, have a mechanic do it and you can purchase the parts yourself online. I personally believe it's a big mistake to not replace the rotors on these cars when you do this job, and I like to save money too. I learned this from another German car I had before my C230K. You might think you're saving money, but not really. In today's world, we need all the braking power we can get in our cars, if you know what I mean! Right? My safety and peace-of-mind is worth more than trying to do a brake job and cut corners. My opinion only, of course.
