Default Change ML tail lights - can I do it myself and how?

I just picked up a pair of LED tails from ebay : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-08...Q5fAccessories

is it easy to change the taillights myself? I have a 2007 ML500, and am considering whether to get it done from a shop which charges $75, or just do it myself. Are there any guides available? Thanks in advance.

removal is easy just open the tailgate and then the access panels will fold back. then there are 3 or 4, 8mm nuts holding them in. unscrew them the push out the taillight. not sure if the LEDS will work, the connection is probably differnt and you could get an error on the cluster.

Thanks, do you know of any guides with pictures online? I tried to see, but I couldnt find a way to open up the panels.

Default LED lights in older Mercedes Benz

Its possible to install LED lights in older Mercedes Benz, but you will have to install the appropriate LED resisters across each light or where its combination lights otherwise the ECM will through an error which says the lights are defective and may not let you even turn them on without the can-bus error being removed (happens automatically once the resistors are installed). Same applies to using LED headlights.
