2002 MB C320. whinning noise. went to MB dealership for inspection. diagnose - internal damage in rear differential. they suggest to replace whole differential. cost $3000 including labor.
it's 20% of the car value and doesn't make any sence to invest such amount of money into the car.

can any private bodyshop in MA replace rear differential for less, or fix it, or I dont know..... I'm totally frustrated. Should I sell or fix it? comments? thanks

 

How many Miles are on it and did you plan on keeping it a long time? When did you purchase it?

 

69K miles, purchased 2 years ago, no accidents. Considering all these circumstances I don't think I'm going to keep it.
