When I am in my car in a parking garage for example (or any place where the lighting is very dim) and turn the key on just enough to listen to the radio, the parking lights come on automatically. No matter what position I change the headlight switch to, the parking lights will not go off.

Is there any way to have the key on so that I can listen to the radio, but not have the parking lights come on?

 

What happen when you turn the key back to position “0”?

 

Well, when I turn the ignition back to the off position, the lights go off, but so does the radio after a short period of time......battery rundown protection.

 

Something is definitely wrong but before you find out what is that, try to apply parking brake before you put key in

 

Applying the parking brake does not work either. I guess there is no way to manually turn off your headlights no matter what the lighting situation is. That seems kind of crazy. Every other car that I have owned with automatic headlights, you could manually turn the lights off even if it was completely dark outside.
