C280 Sport Wiper Problems
I own a lovely '97 C280 sport, now at 114K miles.
I've encountered a strange Windscreen wiper problem ( mono-wiper) When initially switched on, the wiper arm moves and extends upwards as it should. At the commencement of the downward movement the arm slows right down and virtually "judders" across the screen.
It seems like the wiper is sticking on the screen but if you lift the arm away it's still only moving slowly at that point of the motion.
Anyone experienced this please? Any Idea appreciated.

Have you ever lubed the wiper mechanism? It's real easy and should be done at least once a year. Just remove the outer covering near the wiper mechanism itself and smear on some white lithium grease or you could spray it with WD-40 initially to free it up. Wipe it clean of the WD-40 after it starts working normal again and then use a white lithium grease to lube the shaft.

That sounds like a very good practical solution...the problem seems to be on the "downward" motion of the shaft too! Who'd have thought you need to grease a car these days!
Will try that right away...many thanks for your suggestion, Nigel
