Default c240 window switch replacement

Hi guys. I am new to this forum having just traded my venerable BMW 528 5sp
for a 2003 c240 with 155k miles. As much as I loved that 528, I recently lucked into a 2002 530I Sport Premium for a price I could not refuse, my son does not want the 528 and my wife will not drive a stick. Thus the trade.

I have been fiddling with the little stuff and the driver's window switch pops out. I went on ebay and spent the princely sum of $26.95 on a complete switch box and am now trying to install it. I have not been able to find a DIY on this however and am finding that the cover panel doesn't just pop off.

Can somebody tell me what the easiest way to get this done is?

TIA
Geoff

Yes, on the C240. I have pretty much done everything there is to do on the two E39s including switches on doors, just unclear as to whether I need to pull the door panels or not. I found that the leftover fasteners from the BMW door panels work just fine on the MB too. It pays to buy them in bulk...
