Default C240 Service B

Hi Wanted to know where do I get my car serviced. My car is due service B in another 500 miles. Will it be a problem if I overdrive even after service is due. I am planning for about 1000 miles drive this weekend. Wanted to get car service after returned due to time constraint.

Will it harm the engine ? I am sure I will not go above 500 miles over serivice due miles.

We do have mercedes dealer here, do I need to get car serviced from them. Last time I visited them for service A they robbed close to 300 $ in illinois.

Does anyone know any other chain or group who can do service B for Mercedes C240. I live in northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Please Help !!!

At least get the oil changed. Remeber you are already going 10-12K miles between oil changes!!

No, you don't have to take your car to a dealership to have a Service A or B performed. You can if you want to, but there are other competent shops out there that can easily perform the items on each. The trick is to find a "competent" one, and that can be done by referral, asking around, l little research on your part in the phone book, etc. You can call the BBB (better business bureau) and ask about them and any outstanding complaints if you want to. Talk with them when you go in and be up front. They should be very accomodating and give you an estimate as well. They typically charge less than the dealerships, but as I said, you have to find a reputable shop. And going 500 miles over your Service B will not harm your engine. Just don't go any further and get everything done when you get back. Good luck.
