Hi, any suggestions on how to remove a rotor that is stuck to the hub on a 2002 C230K? Is there a special tool for doing this? Thanks

Yes, it's called a "big hammer". HA!
No, really, it depends on if you are planning to replace the rotor or not.
I never use the old rotors when replacing pads. Mercedes and BMW say not to,
but that's not the reason I do it regardless. You don't want to "turn" or machine
the old rotor on this car and you can get new rotors pretty cheap online or
elsewhere. I know I didn't exactly answer your question, but.........

Hi, front rotors, might as well give specifics for the rear as they will need service soonas well. Thanks much. While I'm at it, I may as well ask the community for a good parts source other than dealer.

I've had good luck with www.autopartswarehouse.com

Free shipping for orders over 50 bucks.

They ship fast and have a wide selection of all kinds of parts for our cars. And other cars and makes as well.

I've had this problem too. I remounted the wheel but left the mounting bolts slightly loose, so there is maybe 1/8" play. Then I lowered the car to allow the tire to touch the ground with a bit of the car weight on it. Then, while using a hydraulic floor jack only, move the car from side to side to break the bond between the rotor and hub. This as I said has worked for me for this and for unsticking an alloy wheel to a steel hub of the rotor. Be careful, and it may take a few minutes of shaking. Don't get too aggressive. Try putting a bit more weight on the tire if the shaking doesn't pop the rotor free at first.
