A/C in my c230k

I was wondering if anyone knows of this problem, In my 2002 c230k I have dual controls for the cabin temp A/C, well only the passenger side is getting cold air and the drivers side is not. My brother is a mechanic not for mercedes off course, he checked the pressure on the high and low end and the freon is good, the blower is bloweing in all vents. just no cold air on the left side, my brother thinks it may be a sensor, he just does not have a scanner to look for codes. There is nothing on the instrument panel that says there is a problem.
