Default C 180 - 1994 problems with ventilation

Hi

With my C180, yr 1994. Being in a cold country and intown, I frequently had trouble with the car loosing its electric power quite fast and that's why I first changed the battery for a better one. But the real problem is with the warm ventilation system, it never starts immediately after starting the car, it could take up to 15 to 25 minutes before it decides to start. I really wonder what could be the problem since battery seems okay unless it would loose energy into the mass, which I doubt could be the problem. I was wondering whether with this model there would be some known trouble or system to warm up that could delay warm ventilation. Why not? but 25 minutes to wait when it's minus 15 Centigrades outside is too much time anyway! Oh and one strange thing that I noticed is that the ventilation button used to have some rear light before, it showed in the dark, now it's gone somehow..

Anybody having some clues.. Thanks a lot
