hey all

i've got a 1998 c180, purchased a few months ago. i've got a blaupunkt tape/radio head unit and a 10-disc changer in the back. when i test drove the car i checked the cd changer and it worked fine. i bought the car, got it home, tried to eject the tray(?) inside it and it wouldn't come out. all i could hear was the motor whirring but nothing making contact. i had a play around with it, put it back and after that i didn't even get the whirring noise - the unit sounded dead

assuming i'd somehow broken it, i purchased an identical blaupunkt cd changer off ebay and tried that, incredible, no power to that either. i've checked the fuse and it's ok. i've used a multi-meter on the pins and they're putting power out......i'm tempted to buy a replacement head unit now, but don't want to waste more money if possible.....

...any ideas?
