Audio Help!!!
Alright heres the problem.
I took my 2001 c320 to an audio center to get subs and an amp installed to my original headunit. I drove around and after a week, the bass starts going down, and then will shoot up extremely loud and would almost cause me to wreck. The audio center didn't know what was wrong with it, so they took it all out and gave me a refund. I then went to a more professional audio center who told me that I needed some kind of chip that would turn off something in my headunit. They said that for some reason just in my year of mercedez and some others, that mercedez installed some kind of thing that would make my sound go up and down depending on the road? But they didn't include a button to turn it off....So it was either the chip for 500 bucks, or a new head unit. I for some reason think that they are completly bull******* me. I'm here to ask if anyone knows anything else I can do, maybe go to mercedez and have them turn it off? Please Help thank you.

was reading your topic and with certian head units like most newer mercedes some radios auto volume up and down due to like road noise etc etc. i m a installer and in the past by adding subs to certain cars like this the radio will turn up and down due to in sound pressure or sound in your car. in some cases like yours it was the radio but like certain cell phones the sound around you gets loud so the phone comps on that and gets louder ...hope this has helped you a bit
