air con switch

air con switch
the air con button on my 98 c200(the one marked EC)turns the air con on when the button is in the off position(no red light)and off when the button is in the on position(red light on)..i have taken the panel off to look behind but all seems well..the air con works fine but for this small problem...any ideas please
