Default Acelleration running etc

Anyone help ?
am baffled about the acceleration on my 1998 c180 sport, i have just had the my head gasket done at the main dealer but before it went in i have had this sluggish hardly any power feeling, especially when pulling out of junctions, i have difficulty trying to put my foot down to overtake, i have just got another maf sensor, i put it on and it seem to be worse than the one i originally had on(does the codes need resetting) i have recently had brand new battery put in aswell it takes its time when accelerating just to get upto 30mph sometimes, when going on a straight accelerating on a motorway for eg. the feeling is like something is holding it back the feeling like you are doing 60mph and a rocking in your chair feeling
has anyone got any ideas at all
many thanks

Had similar problem on my C200, turned out to be the Air Mass unit, alot better but not brilliant.

Just checked and it is a Bosch and for the first time ever I managed to get up to 110, with more to spare, not that I'll go that fast again!
