Default ABS Modual Bombed Out, C240 2001

Hi Guys,
I don't expect an answer to this one,but here goes.
Question is, What are the consequences of not replacing an ABS Modual. Yes i am aware that the braking won't work in an emergency and the brake assist won't work and the stability programme won't work.. By not fixing the problem, will it lead to other problems and possible damage? At this stage brakes work, just got to be easy on them otherwise go into a skid, Speedo works, brake lights work.
Going to cost a few K to replace the part, that's why i am asking.
Looking forward to some responses.

It will likely cause damage to the overall braking system. It's an easy replacement procedure, but a bit pricey as you mentioned. I'm attaching a link to one of our site's DIY tech articles if you decide to do this yourself. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Got good news guys.
I managed to find a used part with the exact part numbers on the ABS modual as the one in my car for a third of the price of a new one.
Ripped out the damaged part and installed the replacement part, Bled the brake system and the problem went away.
Will take it to the Auto Electrician in the morning to clear the computer log.
Love the internet. One is always able to find great expert advice and tutorials.
Thank you Pelican Parts.com for your help.
