I've noticed some of my wires having their casings crumbling and having exposed wires. Is this a manufacturing/design problem? Is the wiring harness in sections so it can be replaced in sections? I've been a Benz owner for the last 25 years starting with two old '85 300D turbo diesels and this is the first time experiencing a major defect that is consistent with both of my '99 C280's and it effects the whole wiring harness. I want to keep my Benz's but don't want to lay out several thousand to have the car rewired.
