2007 C230 Melted fuel pump connector
I have a 2007 C230 that will not start. After finding no fuel at the fuel rail, I checked the fuel pump voltage connector to find that the positive lead had melted on the fuel pump itself(photo attached). Obviously I need a new fuel pump, but is this something that would happen if the pump froze or had an internal short, or do I possibly have another electrical issue that may have caused this? Is there anything specifically I should look for before replacing the pump? When I check the harness side of the fuel pump connector, it has good voltage. There are no other problems with the car. Check engine light is not on and there are no codes currently, and the rest of the electrical system seems to be fine. Thanks in advance!!
