2005 C 230K OEM rims VS Chrome Replicas
i got 2005
and by first year back rims bent and needs replacement for 400
few months later
both of front rims are "supposedly" bent and dealer tells me it needs to be changed
are the damn benz rims that weak?
if i noticed going over crazy pot hols i woulda noticed but i didnt
all the sudden i take itto dealer for check ups
n they tell me i need to replace
has anyone bought benz chrome replicas?
its going down on ebay for like 800
oem benz rims are 1600
has anyone bought these?
wuold these bend ezier than oem?

Chrome is not going to make a wheel stronger in terms of "bending". Stock C230K wheels don't "bend" by themselves.
Something else is going on here. I would seek a second opinion other than a dealer on this one. Or you can jack up one
wheel at a time and spin it and look at the outer rim to see if it's spinning true and not wobbling. You can see it if it is.
Also, a good tire and alignment shop will do basically the same thing.

the replicas on ebay are probably poor quality made in china and softer, heavier than factory. I would look on tirerack for quality aftermarket rims that fit (but aftermarket rims for mercedes are pretty limited selection and they're usually fairly expensive). what kind of air pressures are you running? I suspect they were low on air if you managed to bend all 4 wheels, that is not easy to do.
