I have a very nice C240 4-matic wagen that, most of the time runs fine. On occasion will what to stall at a stop light or not want to **** properly. It not not seam to matter if the engine is hot or cold. I have changed the air filters and cleaned the throdle body. Also hear a clicking noise on occasion. I would appreciate any advice before it goes to Mercedes of Cincinnati. Thanks

 

Mine is a 2001 C320 and I get a ticking, this is normal, its a relay on the right hand side of the engine bay - something to do with a relay controlling something or other.

Its been into MB every timefor its factory sevice and they tell me its quite normal.

On the issue of rough idle/stall - if you pull off the air filter box and you will see and huge air intake at the back of the engine, fastened into that is the MAM or MAS (Mass Air Meter/Sensor). It will just pull off and then u use a T20 Torx driver to take the sensor blade out, then goto a good elitrical shop and buy a can of CIRCUIT BOARD Elictrical cleaner - be careful not to drown it - and leave pleanty of time for it to evaporate.

Furthermore, use a decent injector cleaner on a full tank of fuel, and dont drive it too hard!

Also take your battery off before you start, and reconnect once completed. If you have the standard dash radio, the radio code usually comes from the on board computer.

If you have ESP, Traction Control and ABS, just drive normally and these will recalibrate themselves.
