Default 2002 c230 Kompressor - My key has stopped working??

Hi ANY HELP PLEASE????

My key works when to turn my car on and off but when I try and open and lock the doors from the outside it does not work, the lights won't flash like they normally do when I open my car from a distance. What do I do??

1. Is their batteries in these phobs? If so where, and how do you replace them?
2. I don't think anything is wrong with my battery at all. car runs great. Is there a way to check you battery? if so how do you do that?
3. Any other help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks anyone! - please reply to this thread only do not PM thanks

1. YES. Remove the manual key and use it to push on the plastic piece inside the key hole. Push it the opposite way (at right angle) that the key came out of the hole. The small grey fob piece should move when pushed. While pushing it you also have to remove the end of the key where you are pushing. It should slide out easily. DO NOT pry or force it out.
Once out you can replace the TWO batteries. I believe they are CR2032 but check before buying them. They are available virually anywhere watch batteries are sold.

2. A small red light comes on briefly when the buttons are pushed, but change them. They don't last forever. I have extremely low mileage on my car but have replaced the batteries three times since the car was new. The more you use the lock/unlock etc the more the batteries are used.
