1999 C280 Front Brake Pads. I am getting
a squeak in my front brakes just before the car comes to a stop. I had new tires mounted back in July and ask the Tech to check the pads, at the time I was told I had 65% of the pad worn. do you think this squeak is the brake pad sensor telling me to change the pads?
Thanks!
Thanks!

depending on the pad installed.
if ever there is, the sound is a high pitch and as if coming from everywhere.
but it's still worth checking. 30k km is normal mileage for your front pads to replace.

that's true, i agree with you.
it always differ from driving style and road conditon. getting mileage from the city is not much the same as in the highway.

Forgot to mention the squeak is not a high pitch sound, in fact today they didn't make any noise at all, but the car was in the body shop, I had the hood repainted, lots of chips and some rust popping thru and had the entire car wet color sanded and polished. Looks good. Tomorrow I am going to put a coat of wax on for the winter. So in was inside and not exposed to moisture, I don't park in the garage all the time, around this house, whoever gets to the garage first gets to stay there. Now I wondering if is the dampness and early morning fog we have around here in the morning this time of year?

almost all of the bmw and mercedes-benz cars got this creaking or grunting sound when you step on the brake fully while the car is moving forward, and turning the steering to one side and then slowly releasing the brake. maybe it's the same sound you are hearing.
sometimes it can be solved by applying a little grease on the back plate of the brake pad... but not in all case.
