1998 C280 side marker and brake light stay on
Hi
My 98 C280 has its turn signal lights on both side and also rear brake lights on both side remaining ON when I turn off the car. Usually I could make them go out by turning the light switch randomly to either left and right rapidly several times and also turn the ignition switch back on and then off. Or drive around and then it will be ok. It seems to happen increasingly frequent now in the winter than before. Now a lot of time I cannot make them go out. I had to turn the light switch to one position to the left so that the driver side turn signal and brake light will be off so as to minimize the battery drain. The passenger side turn signal and rear brake light will remain on.
Anyone know what is wrong.
I replaced the battery with a new one but the problem remains.
It could be the light swich but one time I can hear a click (I think is a relay) and then the car become normal again.
So my guess would be ether a relay (but I have no idea where it will be located so that I can check it) or the light switch assembly.
Thanks.
