Hi all.

I just had a go at cleaning my MAF (is it the unit attatched to the airbox?), and found a bit of "burned" oil on the airfilter, and in the tubes that go from the airfilter to the top. There was not any oil in the tube to the kompressor, only in the small tubes from the top! My idle is a little unsteady - do I have a serious problem.

Just took it for a ride. No kompressor power. What have I done. Any ideas?

 

Well now you've done it. Did you take the connector off?

If you did, you let out the smoke and will need to replace it.



Sorry, just got done fixing the wife's "Clown Car" (mini)
The door cable got bent in the cold weather and she couldn't open the driver door. Silly Brits!

Maybe silly, but I was just plain stupid yesterday. Forgot to put the connector back on!!!? Therefore no power

Still have not found out exactly were the maf is - is it the unit bolted to the airbox? It looks quite different from that on my old car - BMW 318I.

And what about the small drips of old/burned oil on the airfilter and in the tubes!? Read about it somewhere, but canĀ“t find the thread again

Cleaned the MAF - not located where I thought . A bit of oil in the pipe over the MAF!!? Just like there was in the airbox. Not much, just a thin cover. Still have the not quite stable idle. Any ideas??
