1997 mercedes c240 sport
When I put the gearbox into drive on my c240 it rattles until I pull away then its quiet again. It changes gear nice and smoothly and only rattles on tickover. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks

Are you sure that it is the transmission making the noise? Perhaps there is a loose heat sheild on the exhaust that rattles when the car is in gear and stopped. can you describe the sound? Does the sound go away if you put the car in neutral?
