Default 1997 c280 radio question

i have a 97 c280 with the original cassette deck. Did 97 models come with a CDradio option from the dealer?I want to install a CDdeck, butI want to use a MB radio tokeep the dash looking stock. Is there a CD deck that will just plug right into myradio harness? From a newer C class maybe? I did this with a older honda i owned once. Used a newer civic radio and it just plugged right in with no mods. Did it also with my Ford Explorer. Not sure about MB tho.

Depending on which head unit you have, it may be possible. Just do not buy one of the CD players that requires an optical connection like the 99 and 2000 have (may some 98's?).

i know you want the stock look and all but from my experience your better buying something aftermarket. not only will you be getting something that sounds better, you also get many options like MP3, IPOD connection, Aux input , SAT radio, HD radioto name a few plus its going to be cheaper then a mercedes cd player which proubly wont give you all that.

If you wanted cd it was a option of a changer in the trunk. Crutchfield may have on but I opted for a Blaupunkt cd in dash replacement. It looks and works well. I got it at cruchfield, they send the harness you need.. They said I needed a PAC-OEM -2 which i ended up not using.
