Please I need help, just got this 1995 C280 few weeks ago. Suddenly the fuel and the heat gauges stop working. In the second day I tried to start the car but the key in not turning in the ignition. Appreciate your help.

 

if there is a tension on the steering wheel lock, the ignition switch is difficult to turn. try moving the steering wheel a bit.

if you play with the ignition switch, the cluster lights comes on? fuses ok?

Hope your 'key' issue is already resloved. I had the same problem in my 94 C280 which left me stranded at a gas station. The key just won't turn and if you do a search, you'll know it can be costly(in my case, I had to pay almost $1500 CAD). the consolation prize is a new key from MB.

Thanks all for the help, the problem was from the aftermarket alarm. The key turns after disconnecting the alarm system.
