1995 C220 Mercedes Benz (Euro version)
A warm greetings to everyone and, as of this writing, a Happy 2007 Easter!
Apologies in advance if this had been discussed before, but my problem is my centre air vents, or air flaps. Both of these close whenever I turn the air-conditioning on, and only the side air vents spew out the air, and observing closely, I could actually hear air blown inside the dash board that appear to go nowhere. However, when I turn the EC button on (which turns of the AC), a few minutes and the flaps open. In addition, whenever the AC is on, and I chanced upon a red traffic light, I could hear, while stepping on the brake, the sound of the vacuum pump for central locking at the right hand side of the boot making a pumping sound, like the sound when it closes the doors. I realise that this pump also services the air flaps so there could be a connection. I've already replaced the cabin pollen filter so as to isolate this already. Now that leaves me bewildered as to what the cause is. Could I request your help in this? Is it something that I can DIY? I can be reached through email lamb_lion at seductive dot com for any photos of repair youwould want to share. Many thanks in advance.
