Default 17" RIMS Touching

I have recently fitted 17" rims with 225/45/R17 Continentals to my C280 Sport AMG ( W202). The standard rims are 15". Prior to fitting the new wheels, the local tyre dealership checked on their computer and confirmed that there would be enough clearance. This might apply to a standard C280, but the Sport has a lower ride height. As a result, I am now having problems with the tyres connecting the wheel-arches if I hit a bump at speed. I have had a panelshop roll the inside of the wheelarches but this has made little difference. Does anyone have suggestions?
