Default 06 wiring info

I am leaning toward and aftermarket in dash navi dvd player, even though I will lose steering wheel controls. I have found some every nice units that have some great features.
My cars is a 06 c230 with basic single cd changer
VIN WDBRF52H46F757851
My questions are:
Does my car use fiber optics?
Do I have stocks amps that run the speakers?
Can I integrate into the amps with out rewiring all the stereo?

Thanks for any and all help

yes. your car uses MOST (media oriented system transport).

the speaker is connected directly from radio. no amplfier.

Can I integrate into the amps with out rewiring all the stereo
the only amp you got is the audio gateway.

you can integrate from speaker wires instead.

Sleepwalker,

Thanks very much!

I have been told that the actual radio is in the rear passenger side not the dash it is just the interface is that correct?

Will the speaker wires be accessible from the dash or will I have to tap into then from the trunk?

What do you mean by audio gateway?

Anything odd about the speaker configuration that may hinder me form simply adding a after market head unit?

Any wiring diagrams you have would be great I don’t know how you get them but I have seen many that you put up for people and that is very nice. Thanks again for all the help!

yes. audio gateway.

What do you mean by audio gateway?
sound communication interface in simple term. the telephone, cd changer, voice control, radio etc are speaking on different language. an interpreter is needed to make them understand each other. that's what the audio gateway do.

Anything odd about the speaker configuration that may hinder me form simply adding a after market head unit?
kindly check on the rear right wheel house inside the trunk if you can find the amp. i am not sure because i got no database for your car yet. it's too new. after the, i'll answer.
