Hi, I have a question about check engine light and alternator problem on my 02 C320.This car has just over 50000 miles and the Service B was done on it a month ago.

I am receiving the check engine light from few days ago. At first it showed the messageabout alternator problem and the engine was shut down while i was waiting green light. couldn't startup the engine for10 mins and fortunatelyit was back on and started it up.

Next day,there's no check engine light on.This time, check engine light is not always on. It's like it shows on every other day. And last2 days,there was no C. engine light on.

Day 1. CheckEngine /Engineshut down / Back onafter 10 mins / drove about 2 hrs

Day 2. No Check Engine / Engineshut down after first 5 mins / coulddrivearound

Day 3. Check Engine / Engineshut down after 5 mins / Check engine "disappear" when restarted/ Could drive around

Day 4. No Check Engine / No Engine shut down after first 5 mins / drives well

Day 5. Same as Day 4.

I am guessing this iscertainly an alternator issue but like toknow why the Check Engine lightdoesn't keep staying on.I amabout going to get Bosch120mA Alternator from Online and bring it to indivisual mechanic. But i am stillwondering aboutcheck engine light.

BEST THING TO DO IS HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE BEFORE ANYTHING........
