In 1970 I was stationed in Idar Oberstein Germany. I bought my cute sedan for $150. from a GI shipping home in a week. Prior to shipping home in Dec.
I sold it to a female American school teacher for about the same $150. In that year I did 2 engine swaps. Pictures attached. No, I could not ship it home.
Driving it from New Jersey to Wisconsin was not possible at the time. My first job was min. wage living at home.
