My SL 55 AMG eats rear tires for breakfast, so I'm always shopping for tires. The normal name brands in 285/35/18 ZR go for 250 -450 per. I find a tire for $126 new on Ebay. intrigued, Google around to find out about it and find pretty much nothing.

They show up and what a surprise, they compare exactly to the Michelin sports I'm removing. I mean exactly ,every groove line or ejector pin mark. These things were made from Michelin molds..

OK I mounted them and am driving on them now. I don't run the car much over 100 MPH or slide it sideways, so the main issue will be wear. same for bad weather, I levee the car home as it won't even move in 1/2" of snow.

At the moment I'm feeling pretty smug. Two tire Shipped mounted and balanced for $138 per.ea. against $375. per ea. for the set coming off.
